Windows 7

Hello Again, Tomorrow marks the day of another possible blunder for Microsoft. While i have been running windows 7 since they released it to msdn subscribers, I have been thoroughly impressed. Unlike a lot of the people in this world i was completely happy with Vista.

Majority of the Vista problems i face on a daily basis is the result of chain stores. Majority of the individuals that i help have a machine that barely ran XP and had Vista shoved on it and shipped to stores. The importance of this letter is to inform everyone that they do not have to upgrade if they don’t want to. The minimum specs for Windows 7 for me is a Intel Core 2 Duo 1.5 Ghz Cpu or equivalent, 4 GB Ram, 250 GB Sata Hdd, and a DVD-Rom. And Vista runs really well on the same.

Anything less than this kind of slow not letting the potential of these OS’s out. Windows 7 has some great features that Vista didn’t. But they start with the more expensive Pro version. XP Mode is a good thing to look at. Most people see that tag and expect that they can run any program in Xp mode. Well this is not the case, There are certain guidelines to be followed and they sometimes do not work either. The bottom line is… XP will still have updates for a few more years, so other than some added security features, you necessarily don’t need to upgrade yet. Weigh out the pro’s and con’s before making your decision.

Drop me a line with your situation and I’ll try to help you make the choice. As far as my choice I’m moving to Windows 7, I have a lot of software that can benefit from the move and my PC is well above the minimum specs. In closing choose wisely, don’t make your first decision.

I in no way represent Intel or Microsoft nor have i received any compensation for mentioning them. This review is solely based on my own opinion with items i have purchased.
